Spuds. It has been a puzzle to archeologists toassign to any class the peculiar stonescalled spuds. They are usually of acomparatively soft material, carefully worked and polished, and bear nomarks of rough usage. On the other hand, they seem too large forornament. Perhaps their office may have been in some ceremony orgame. Something similar in form seems to be denoted in the followingextracts: Col.
