Ryanair Boeing 737 flight number FR2190 has taken off bound for Malaga in Spain, and will return in the evening, after which Southend Airport will close to passenger flights due to the COVID 19 lockdown until at least February, dealing another blow to the struggling airport. easyJet closed their base at Southend at the beginning of the pandemic though aided the airport's finances by storing a quantity of planes there. These have all now departed. Owners Stobart are asking for government aid to help them through.
