Blessing Queen Mother Angle Statue Watches Over the City Blue Sky Background Mount Royal Montreal Quebec. Green and Rust Metal
Photographed this artwork during one glorious summer Sunday at the weekly "Tam-Tam" festival near the George-Étienne Cartier Monument in Mount Royal Park in Montreal, Canada. "The Tam-Tam name is onomatopoetic, referring to the drum circle that forms the focal point of the gathering." ("Cartier returns". Montreal Gazette. May 23, 2008. Retrieved 31 March 2010.) The Queen Mother Angel statue stands on top of a tall column with three smaller angels placed at her feet. With arms raised above her head and her head bowed, the female monarch angel with a star halo, blesses the city and gently gazes towards the north east through the deep blue skies of Quebec onto Laurentians mountains. Mount Royal or La Montagne is part of the Monteregian Hills situated between the Laurentians and the Appalachian Mountains. It gave its Latin name, Mons Regius, to the Monteregian chain.
