ARGAND STEAM BLOWER forfurnaces. A perforated annular nozzle in-closed in a shell with curved sides and steamconnections. It furnishes a large volume of air with asmall amount of steam. The air and steamare thoroughly mixed in the shell of the blow-er before the blast is delivered into the ashpit. It makes very little noise in operation. 99. Section, showing ring and jets. 100. COAL DUST FEEDING APPARA-TUS. A revolving steel brush carries the coaldust into the furnace with high velocity, mixedwith the air drawn in at the mouth of the shaking device operated from the brush shaftregulates the dust feed. The shaking parts of the hopper are shown bythe dotted GENERATION OF POWER, STEAM. 6l loi. COAL DUST BURNER. The vertical tube, a, for intro-ducing the air serves as a pivot to the system, which comprises : i, themovable jacket, b, to which are bolted the primary air conduit, c, andthe secondary air conduit, d; 2, the hopper, e, supported by the chest,f; the inlet pipe, g, and, finally, the conical chamber, h.
