An Italian corsesche circa 1600. The head formed of a slender tapering central spike of stiff diamond section, a pair of out-curved blades at the base, each with the upper edge sharpened and coming to a very narrow reinforced point, each struck with a mark on one side, an orb filled with the letter V, and faceted short socket extending to short straps (light pitting throughout): on an octagonal wooden haft.
