A meeting will be called in the near future, when officers will be elected and the details of the organization completed. Calvin C. Laney, superintendent of parks, has announced that Lilac day, which was to have been held on Sunday, May 25, has been postponed to Sunday, June 1, on account of the cold and rainy weather which has prevented them from coming into blossom. Visitors last week included J. F. Ward, of Mumford, N. Y.; F. W. Jones, of the Pennock-Meehan Co.,\ Philadel- phia, and the representative or A. Leip- zig, Inc., New York city. The Maurer-Haap Co. reports big busi- ness in bedding and nursery stock this season. There are some well developed shrubs on exhibition at the warehouse. We are glad to learn that John Dun- bar, assistant superintendent of parks, is making good recovery from the two operations he recently submitted to. Previous to the operations he was con- fined to his home with Spanish influenza and then pneumonia. It has been a strenuous pull for Mr. Dunbar for sev- eral months, but his physician is most hopeful for a complete recovery. He is still confined to his home, but is able to get downstairs each day. George M. Keller is disposing of a large quantity of bedding stock, which is in excellent condition. Most of his geraniums are in good bloom. Edwin P.
