Sea slug or nudibranch (Ardeadoris egretta). The gills (breathing structures, lower left) are seen, as well as the two rhinophores (upper right). These are used to sense chemicals in the water. Nudibranchs (meaning naked gills) are sea slugs that lack a shell or true gills. They are carnivorous, feeding on invertebrates, and often store toxins from their prey in their skin. These are used in defence against predators. Photographed off Mabul, Malaysia.
