The Faroe Islands is an archipelago in the Norwegian Sea just halfway between Norway and Iceland, around 320 km north of Scotland. Around 50000 people are living on cool and wet 1400 square øur is the most important historical site of the islands with the ruins of the Magnus cathedral and the 12th century Olav's church built in 1111. Also the cemetery around the church is very interesting. Die Färöer-Inseln liegen ungefähr auf halben Weg zwischen Norwegen und Island, sowie 320 Kilometer nördlich von Schottland im Nordatlantik. Auf etwa 1400 Quadratkilometer Land leben rund Menschen in einem kühlen und recht feuchten Klima. Kirkjubøur ist der wichtigste historische Ort der Färöern mit den Ruinen der Magnus-Kathedrale aus dem 13. Jahrhundert und der Olavskirche, die 1111 erbaut wurde. Auch die Grabsteine des Friedhofes vor der Kirche sind sehenswert.
