Mission San Carlos de Borromeo de Carmelo, near Carmel by Sea is the second oldest of the Californian Missions.

Als known as the Carmel Mission or Mission Carmel. It is a Roman Catholic Mission Church founded in 1770. It is on the National Register of Historic Places and a US National Historic Landmark. It is the only Californian Mission to have its originalbell tower dome.
