Picture by Roger Bamber: 15 October 2008: Inside the cab of Britain's newest locomotive as it undergoes speed and brake trials this week. 60163 Tornado is the first main line steam engine to be built in 50 years and here driver Cliff Perry and fireman Peter Buckley are putting it through its paces on the Great Central Railway between Loughborough and Leicester. Constructing a Peppercorn class A1 Pacific steam loco from scratch took 18 years and £3 million, all raised by donations.
