(3) There are approximately as many plus deviations asminus deviations in the large, medium, and small class-groups.(4) In Test 5, a test of speed in copying figures, (an abilitywhich the school does not seek to cultivate) we find approximate-ly the same degree of variability in the deviations as in Test 7,(a test of arithmetical abilities which the school does seek em-phatically to cultivate.) If the size of the class were a modify-ing factor its effects should be apparent in the results of Test7 if anywhere. Table XVI shows the results of combining the deviations of each group for all the grades. The combination was made according to the following formula; - Algebraic
