This elevated district is mostly covered with forests of deciduoustrees—oak, hickory, chestnut, maple, etc. It has an abundanceof water-power, coal, and iron, but is yet undeveloped. Second. East of the mountain belt lies a broad strip offertile country. It produces tobacco in the north and cot-ton in the south. Third.
