The publicity committee held an in- teresting meeting January 5, at 2 p. m., at publicity headquarters, 1316 Pine street. Chairman Bourdet opened the meeting, which was fully attended, there being only one absentee out of the eleven members. The advertising committee was highly commended for the manner in which it handled the holi- day press work. After all bills were or- dered paid, it was voted to pay to the national publicity committee the money set aside for the national publicity fund; it will be handed over to Presi- dent W. A. Rowe, of the Florists' Club, to present to the committee at the meet- ing of the board of directors of the S. A. F. at Washington, January 25. It was also decided to continue advertis- ing, and a sum of money was set aside for the committee to work on up to Easter. The committee also changed the meeting days to the first and third Wednesdays in each month at 2 o'clock, at which time members were requested to attend promptly, as all the members of this committee are busy men. Various Notes. The entertainment committee of the St. Louis district branch of the National Flower Growers' Association, consist- ing of Messrs. Bourdet, Rowe and De- Wever, have charge of the program of the first annual meeting of the associa- tion, to be held January 18. An outline of this program appears on another page of this issue. The membership of the new district is growing daily and by the time of the meeting it should reach seventy-five and possibly 100, the goal set by the committee. The payment of the first quarter's dues began January 1. It is up to the growers to do their part by each sending his applica- tion for membership, with the first quar- terly dues, at once. ^Beginning Jnniiary 9, the orchid show opened in the floral display house at the Missouri
