Palmyra, Homs Governorate, Syria - May 27th, 2009 : A man rides a camel under the 3rd century Monumental Arch of Triumph of Palmyra, a Roman ornamental archway officially destroyed by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) in 2015. Most of its stonework still survives and there are plans to rebuild it.
