Thisinsect has been reportedfrom a great many sectionsof the State as doing con-siderable damage, but muchof this damage can be over-come by destroying thewinter brood. Box-Elder Plant-bug{ Leptocoris trivittatus).(Fig. 22.) Although thispest is a feeder on thebox-elder tree, it does attimes attack fruit trees,such as peaches, plums,and apples, and also vari-ous plants of the flowergarden. Its habits aresomewhat similar to thoseof the Harlequin cabbage-bug, especially the winter hibernating.
