A boy does chores on a dairy farm
The Ertl family tends to their beef cattle in the small Bavarian village of Lenggries. The children are exposed to cattle and the barn every day as they help with small chores on the farm which has been in Jakob's family since 1773 at least 9 generations. The Ertl family is participating in Dr. Susanne Schmid's long term study attempting to find the source of protection from allergies enjoyed by children who grow up on farms. Jakob Jr. and Jakob Sr. are both allergy free.
