When asked to marry them he bade them appear on an amdAvaa witha cow and made each touch its different parts : so one touched its tail {puchal) and foimdedthe Puchalar gotra ; another its horns {sing) and founded the Singlas gofra, and soon. Eachgotra has five panvaras, except the Kashib which has three or occasionally seven. The Kashibsare thus known as triparwaras or saptparwaras and the other gotras as p^^ichpanvaras. Bhargava Dkusar history. 89. The Dhusars affect the Yaj-ur Veda, the Mad3andaDi sakha and the Katjani sutraj andinvariably wear the sacred thread. Only the Brahma form of marriage is tolerated amongthem and in the choice of a bride the ffotra and worshippers of the same kulJevi (familygoddess) are avoided. Widows never remarry.
