The chief feature ofeconomy is, of course, brought about by the reduction in thefirst and renewal cost of the circular rack as compared witha gear wheel. ELECTRIC GLUE HEATER The Advance Machinery Company, Toledo, Ohio, has re-cently brought out the electric glue heater illustrated, which isintended to provide a neat, quick and economical method fordissolving glue. The maker asserts that it is possible to dis-solve the glue in 30 minutes, and that the current may beswitched off after 45 minutes or reduced, as the operator maydesire. The heater is made entirely of copper and brass, and theconstruction is such that when the glue is brought to theproper temperature in the morning the heater may be switchedout of circuit, as the heat-retaining jacket serves to maintaina temperature of about 150 deg. for from four to five glue is first put in soaking buckets, and after it has ab-. Electric Glue Heater sorbed all the water necessary and acquired a jelly-like con-sistency it is put into the glue receptacle. The latter is cylin-drical in form, and is surrounded by a jacket filled with water jacket is within an additional- copper jacket. Thewall between the outside jacket and the water jacket is filledwith mineral wool. The water in the jacket is heated by elec-tric coils provided with three-way switches or several sockets, according to the size of the heater. The heaters are made assmall as 1 pint or as large as 100 gal. _ CLINCH TROLLEY WIRE EARS The accompanying engravings illustrate two types of trolleywire ears made by the Indianapolis Brass Company, Indian-apolis, Ind.
