“I am proud to be a Turk” is written in huge letters on the mountain in the Turkish Cypriot part of Cyprus.

| „Ne mutlu Türküm diyene.“ (How happy is the one who says : I am Turk) is written in huge letters on a mountain side of the Pentadaktylos (Beshparmak) range in the North of Cyprus. The flags, facing south, can be seen from almost everywhere in the Greek Cypriot part of Nicosia. Next to the Turkish flag is the one of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, a state that was founded in 1983 and is recognized only by Turkey but not internationally.
