The equalizers built offi-in. iron and placed on top of the boxesare designed with thimbles between them and bolts through theequalizers to prevent spreading. Ihere are four double coiledsprings between the frames and the equalizers. These springswere made by the National Steel Spring Co., and the two tripleelliptic springs were made by the .\merican Locomotive Co. The. END VIEW bolster is of the built up type with roller bearings on the topof the bolster spaced 58 in. between centers. The swing links arcof cast steel with pins of cold rolled steel 2]4 in. in diameter,fastened to the castings by tapered pins. Bolted to the swing linktransoms and riveted to the truck frame transom supports are thecross-channels, I2xi>^xj^ in., with chafing plates to protect thechannels from nmlnr wear and with safety straps to prevent the
