A member of Iron ^folders Un-ion No. 164 of San Francisco since1868, he has filled the various of-fices of his organization for thirty-seven years, and was honored by election as a delegate to the IronMolders International Convention which met in St. Louis in had a resolution adopted by that convention favoring a nine-hourwork-day, which was the first step toward securing an eight-hourday for the molders.
