The market conditiona the first part of last week were most satisfactory to the local trade, as prices were up and stock rather scarce in all seasonable flowers. During the latter part of the week, stock began to come in heavily and the demand was slow. The weather, too, was rather freakish during the week; up to January 28 it was summer- like, but from then on we got a real taste of winter, with a big snow storm January 30.
