Gibraltar. 17th February 2017. The USN Leroy Grumman enters the British naval base of Gibraltar under escort. The US naval supply vessel arrives just days after a US naval team of assessors from Rota visited the British base to access its facilities for future visit from US naval vessels. A Ministry of Defence spokesman claims the vessel has arrived for “for some well earned rest and recuperation.” The vessel is the 9th ship in the Henry J Kaiser-class and the first ship in the Navy to bear the name of the Naval Aviator and founder of the Grumman Corporation.
