In commenting upon the combination plan in costumes, thePhiladelphia Press, of October 13, 1883, makes the following in-teresting remarks: A leading feature of the fashions of the season, as shown at theOctober openings, is that of combination costumes. Scarcely adress among all those made by the great French dressmakers,Worth, Pingat, , and the rest, is of a single fabric, the rulebeing the combination of brocade or fancy dress goods, with plainmaterial to match.
