From very careful inquiries, I gathered that these parties liave got between them three or four tons of bones belonging to Columbus, including at least three of his skulls. One of his skeletons is also preserved at Genoa. Leaving San Domingo on the 24tli January, we once more crossed the boundary and entered Haitien w\aters at Jacmel. Interesting as were all these places, I consider Jacmel to bear the palm as the most interesting of them all. It is rather a handsome-lookin2; town from the sea, and boasts some fortifications.
