(Further details An exception to this statement occurs, when an aneurism of the ascendingportion of the aortic arch presses upon or displaces the innominate artery so as tointerfere with the free passage of the blood through that vessel, without pressingupon or interfering with the passage of the blood current through the left sub-clavian artery.
