In addition to his pastoral work, he served the Churchas a member of the Board of Trustees of her colleges fora number of years; was president of the Southern Confer-ence of the North Carolina Synod nine years; and presi-dent of the North Carolina Synod from 1915 to 1919. Hewas a faithful, consecrated minister and pastor. His workand influence will live on after him, and though deadhe still speaks. He married Emily Athelinda Propst and she with fourchildren survive him. His body sleeps in Green Lawn Cemetery, China Grove,N. C. Lutheran Synod of North Carolina 103. Rev. Paul C. Sigmon, Paul C. Sigmon was born at Newton, N. C, May 17,1896, and departed this life October 25, 1932, living andserving here 36 years, 5 months and 8 days. He received his education at Lenoir Rhyne College, Lu-theran Southern Seminary, University of South Carolina,Vanderbilt University, and Duke University, receiving thedegree of from Lenoir Rhyne College and the degreeof from the University of South Carolina. He was ordained to the Gospel Ministry November 10,1921, by the Synod of Georgia and Adjacent States, andserved in the following pastorates: Savannah, Ga.;Orangeburg, S. C; Granite Falls, N. C; Nashville, Tenn.;Durham, N. C.; and Spencer, N. C. He was a young man of promise,—well endowed, ener-getic, consecrated.
