Judith and Holofernes, 1460. Bronze. Judith, a widow from Bethulia, managed to behead the besieging Assyrian general while he was drunk. Original sculpture by Donato di Betto Bardi, called Donatello (1386-1466), Italian sculptor. Sculpture outside the Palazzo Vecchio, Piazza della Signoria, Florence, Italy. It was replaced with this copy in 1988.
