The largest plane in the world, the Antonov An-225 Mriya, stops off for refuelling at Prestwick International Airport in Ayrshire, Scotland. The aircraft, currently the only one of its kind completed, was initially built to transport the Buran space shuttle, and then served in the Soviet military as a strategic airlifter. It is now operated by Antonov Airlines to transport oversized loads, and today's visit was a scheduled fuel stop after departing Bangor earlier this morning. It then left Prestwick to continue its journey to Chateauroux in France.
