The French call them Sauterelles, that is, " ; Figure Carolina Grasshopper. ^ The Carolina Grasshopper (Gryllus Carolina, Fig. 22) IS a very common insect of this Order, and is found in great numbers in the months of August, September, and October throughout the United States.
