A Caucasian nielloed silver shashqa, dated 1889. Single-edged blade with several fullers on each side, a double-edged point, and remnants of decorative etching at the forte. Finely engraved and nielloed silver grip. Leather-covered wooden scabbard with silver mounts nielloed en suite. An owner's inscription and the year "1307" (= 1889) nielloed on the bottom of the locket. Appended short leather belt with nielloed fittings and a silver buckle.
