Grave of 2nd lieutenant Edmond De Rockere (1878-1914), 2nd line regiment at the Belgian Military Cemetery in Sint-Margriete-Houtem, Belgium who died of a bayonet wound whilst leading his men into battle during the Battle of Sint-Margriete-Houtem on August 18, 1914. For his bravery he received a medal in the Order of Leopold. The Battle of Sint-Margriete-Houtem is the frequently used name for the fighting that went on near Tienen on August 18, 1914 in the beginning of the First World War.
