A gold- and silver-inlaid German rapier, circa 1600 Double-edged (unassociated) blade for a small-sword with central ridge on both sides dating from circa 1700 with traces of etching at the root. On both sides a brass panel with the inscription "ME FECIT SOLINGEN" within the ricasso. The iron swept hilt with silver inlaid ornaments, gold damascened flowers and conical pommel. Spirally wound (added) brass wire grip with Turk's heads.
