INVERNESS wood processing plant Norbord has been named and shamed as one of Scotland's top polluting firms for the second year running. Green watchdog the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) has highlighted the company for uncontrolled release of effluent from its Morayhill site, resulting in an enforcement notice being served. But the company blamed global warming for the one-off incident which followed a period of intense rainfall and revealed it has developed contingency plans to ensure such incidents did not happen again. Norbord Inc. is an international producer of wood-based panels with assets of $ billion. They have 13 plant locations in the United States, Europe and Canada, manufacturing OSB, MDF, particleboard and furniture in the United States, Canada and Europe.
