Visnja Gora is a settlement on a low ridge just 20 km southeastern from Ljubljana Visnja Gora was granted city rights in 1478 At that time it vas an important place but in the time of industrialisation got neglected It is one of the best preserved medieval settlements in Slovenia The Old Castle castellum Wichselberg on the hill above was in property of counts of Vi nja Gora who 1136 established the well known Cartesian Monastery Sticna in the locality Slovenia Europe
