Archduke Franz Ferdinand (Franz Ferdinand Carl Ludwig Joseph Maria (1894-1918) was married to Sophie, Duchess of Hohenberg. Gavrilo Prinzip was arrested for the assassination on Sunday 28 June 1914 in Sarajevo. He was a 19 year old Bosnian Serb who was a member of 'Young Bosnia', a movement that sought an end to Austro-Hungarian rule in Bosnia & Herzegovina. Earlier in the same day, the couple had avoided another attempt on their life
