15/07/21 Construction equipment and heavy plant on display outside Richie Bros UK headquarters at their newly developed ex-colliery site in Maltby, South Yorkshire. 1599 lots ranging from articulated dump trucks, excavators, dumpers, backhoe loaders and tele-handlers, through to buckets and hand tools will go under auctioneer’s hammer on Thursday (today) and Friday’s online auction. Peter Haddock from Richie Bros, the world’s largest auctioneers, said: “This is the busiest time we’ve known in the UK construction industry since the days of motorway building in the 1960s. “The boom has been caused by big projects like HS2 and the increase in house building. “Larger companies are under pressure to buy electric and Euro five compliant heavy plant and are choosing to get rid of their old equipment and auction it off. “Some of the big stuff will sell for £100,000 or more with many more achieving tens of thousands of pounds in the auction” All Rights Reserved: F Stop Press Ltd. +44 (0)7765 242650
