Coast Guardsmen and civilian crane operators offload 28,000 pounds of cocaine from the high endurance cutter USCGC Boutwell (WHEC 719) at Naval Base San Diego, Oct. 6, 2014. The cocaine was seized during 18 separate interdictions off the coast of South and Central America by Coast Guard and Navy as part of Operation Martillo. Operation Martillo is a joint, interagency and multinational collaborative effort to deny transnational criminal organizations air and maritime access to the littoral regions of the Central American isthmus.
