Castello Vicchiomaggio in Greve, Italy has a long and stately history. Built around 1400 it played host to such notables as Leonardo da Vinci and Francesco Redi and was used to defend Florence during their feuds with Siena. Today it has an established winery, as well as Tuscan lodging and a wonderful restaurant overlooking the Chianti valley.
