(May 17, 2018) - The Fiscal Year 2017 Navy Reserve Sailor of the Year Chief Engineman Brandon Lovell, assigned to Navy Reserve SurgeMain Houston, embraces his family after being meritoriously advanced to the rank of chief petty officer during the annual Sailor of the Year ceremony at the Navy Memorial in Washington. Lovell is one of four Navy Sailors of the year (SOYs). Throughout their weeklong visit to Washington, the SOYs and their families toured historic sites and enjoyed special events held in their honor.
