Thomas Foss, Benjamin Eastman, Peter Kimball, Joseph At-kinson, and George Jackman were appointed a committee to over-see the construction of the house. TAXES. The first list of ratable polls on record is for the year 1768, thenumber being sixty-three. Taxes were levied for the province,town, meeting-house, ordination, minister, wood for the minister,and a labor tax on the meeting-house. The labor tax was five-fold the money ~ /a) ^ ^
