MOROCCO (March 25, 2019) A service member from the Greek navy’s NATO Maritime Interdiction Operation Training Center (NMIOTC) gives instruction on visit, board, search and seizure (VBSS) strategies during exercise Phoenix Express 2019. Phoenix Express, sponsored by Africa Command and facilitated by Naval Forces Europe- 6th Fleet, is designed to improve regional cooperation, increase maritime domain awareness information sharing practices, and operational capabilities to enhance efforts to achieve safety and security in the Mediterranean Sea.
