In August, -1886, Professor Moore located inLancaster, where he had been appointed as Rectorof Franklin and Marshall Academy. He has fourassistant teachers and is meeting with an encour-aging degree of success in the management of theschool. He has charge of several of the higherclasses, being Professor of Mathematics, Latin andGreek. By a recent action of the Board of Trus-tees, ladies are entitled to admission into the regu-lar classes and are granted all advantages affordedthe other sex. In 1887 Professor Moore receivedthe degree of Master of Arts from Franklin andMarshall College. Mrs. Moore is Matron in theacademy, is a most excellent and deserving lady. A. H. HERSHKY. The marriage of Professor Moore was celebratedin Lisbon, Iowa, Februarj- 6, 1879, with Miss AdaDouglass, who was born in the same town as washer husband. Her paternal great-grandfather wasa native of Scotland, who, on his coming to Amer-ica, settled in central Pennsylvania and was oneof the pioneer teachers. Her grandfather followedthe calling of a blacksmith in McConnellstown,near wliich place Mrs. Moores father, Joseph Doug-hiss, was also born. He was a merchant for manyyears in that place and died in December, wife, formerly Nancy Johnston, was born inthe same locality as was her father, .J
