The first blue plaque in the UK to commemorate the life of a witch will be revealed in Brighton today, Summer Solstice Day. Doreen Valiente's contribution to worldwide Paganism is considered a a major factor in the movement's growth and the city's Green Council is marking her life with the historic unveiling at the block of council flats where she lived until her death in 1999. The picture shows Ann Ewing, chair of the residents' association at Tyson Place, the block of flats in question.
