Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path: lighthouse & pilot station on Point Lynas promontory projecting into Irish Sea from E end of Porth Eilian bay (near bay is Porthyrychen). A pilot station for the port of Liverpool was first based on Point Lynas in 1766, the first warning beacon around 1779. Present lighthouse designed, 1835 by Jesse Hartley for Trustees of Liverpool Docks, modernised 1960s, now automated under control of Trinity House from Liverpool.
