Met Office 'Snoopy' Hercules aircraft. This Hercules aircraft is performing a Meteorological Research Flight (MRF) for the Met Office, the UK's national weather monitoring and forecasting service. Designated a Hercules , it was converted from Lockheed's C130-K design for the RAF. It has a weather probe instrumentation boom (red and white) mounted on its nose, and a radar scanner mounted above the cockpit. The aircraft number was XV208, though it was also known as 'Snoopy'. It entered service in 1973, and was retired in 2001.
