Behindthe supporteron the right-hand side thereis a shield, onwhich LordAldboroughsarmorial bear-ings have beencarved in verylow relief. The grate and sides of the interior of the fireplace arecharacteristic of work by the brothers, so it is possible that thesemay be original examples (Fig. 186). During the year 1773, Robert Adam was engaged upon thealteration of No. 26 Grosvenor Square,1 for Edward, Lord Stanley,1 This house has since been demolished.
