A Northern German wheellock puffer,end of the 16th century. Heavy,round,swamped,smooth bore barrel in 13 mm calibre with remnants of engraved decoration on the chamber. Iron wheellock with safety. Sideplate has a belt hook. Walnut stock with engraved and blackened bone inlays. Iron parts cleaned with acid. The ramrod and a few inlays are replacements. Stock has been repaired below the lock and some worm holes have been filled.
