Looking down a small narrow ravine in the Drakensberg Mountains, with the basalt pinnacle, known as the Devils tooth in the background. These iconic cliffs and peaks of the Drakensberg Mountains formed due to the combination of the Jurassic period large flood basalt during the break-up of the Gondwana Supercontinent and erosion from the later uplift of the African Continent.
