A German(?) muzzle-loading air pistol, middle of the 18th century. Two-stage barrel, the breech section octagonal then round after a chiselled baluster with a smooth bore in mm calibre and a brass front sight. Simulated iron flintlock with cambered lock plate and rounded cock. Lightly carved walnut stock with brass furniture and nosecap. Heavy brass butt stock which unscrews from the receiver and which contains the air reservoir. The pommel cap is in the shape of a floral engraved end cap with a screw. Ramrod missing.
